Autumn Covid-19 Boosters and Seasonal Flu jabs

We will be providing COVID-19 boosters and seasonal flu jabs at Abbey Medical Centre commencing on Monday 3rd October 2022, continuing through to December 2022.

Please call the surgery to book an appointment.

We will be calling patients in turn, including:

  • those aged 65 years and over
  • those aged 18 to 64 years in clinical risk groups
  • pregnant women
  • those in long-stay residential care homes
  • carers, including close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
  • 50–64 year olds not in clinical risk groups (including those who turn 50 by 31 March 2023)*

The interval between your last COVID vaccine should be 3 months.

  • Those that are driving themselves should wait in their cars for a period of 15 minutes before leaving.
  • Wherever possible we ask that if you are eligible for both flu and covid vaccines, you have them at the same time, however you can let the vaccinator know which vaccine you are coming for.
  • You should not attend for your COVID/Flu vaccine if you have had the COVID-19 virus in the last 28 days.

Front line health and care workers can access vaccinations at a number of nearby venues and can book using the National Booking System by calling 119 or going to NHS: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination.

If you have never had a covid vaccination, it is not too late – you can access your vaccination at a number of nearby venues and can book using the National Booking System by calling 119 or going to NHS: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination.

Please note: We will be calling 2–3-year-olds and 16–18-year-olds for their flu vaccines separately. We are not able to give the COVID booster to people under the age of 18 years.
